Lilja Juho

We are a Finnish - Vietnamese married couple. We met in Moscow, where we both were studying in the Film Institute. We got married in 1994 and moved to Finland. For several reasons that we self couldn’t affect, we ended up living separately both in our respective homelands for several years. During this time Juho Lilja spend long periods in Vietnam. Finally, year 2003, we were able to live again permanently together in Helsinki. Vietnam is an important country for us and we try to visit there as often as possible. We have good and active relationships with people working in the movie and TV business. Many of them are our collaborators. Nga Vu-Lilja has worked several years in the Vietnam TV and continued her work in YLE in Finland. She has planned and directed several short TV documentaries and possesses digital editing skills too. Juho Lilja has directed one feature documentary and a few short fiction films. He has participated in several scriptwriting projects and worked as a cinematographer as well. He also has worked as an information officer of a NGO.
