Pertti Veijalainen
Pertti Veijalainen has studied film theory and history, philosophy, communications,
sosiology and literature in Universities of Stockholm and Helsinki. He graduated
from the Film Department, University of Industrial Arts, Helsinki in 1984. He
has worked as a cinematographer in both film and video, but nowadays he has
concentrated on producing. He is also a graduate of the international Media
EAVE program and works as Managing Director of Illume Ltd.
Jouko Aaltonen
Jouko Aaltonen (born 1956) has directed numerous documentaries with subjects ranging from the Siberian taiga to the diplomatic circles of New Delhi. In 2006 he released the feature length documentary Revolution that garnered record-breaking audiences and the Finnish Jussi award for best documentary. He is also a popular lecturer and an author of study books on cinema. He graduated from the Film Department, University of Industrial Arts, Helsinki in 1984. In 2006 he achieved his Doctor of Arts degree, successfully defending his doctoral thesis on Finnish documentaries. His latest films include: Punksters & Youngsters (2008), Four Lives on Seven Seas (2007), Revolution (2006), Life Saver (2005), Ambassadors (2004).
Venla Hellstedt
Venla Hellstedt studied literature and film in London and gained a Master's
degree in social anthropology from LSE. She has worked in a number of
documentary productions for BBC, Discovery Channel and YLE. She has also
worked as a news journalist in the BBC, NBC and ITV. Hellstedt returned to
work in her native Helsinki in 2009, after nearly 14 years in the UK.
Maarit Mononen
Maarit Mononen (born 1981) has graduated as a forestry engineer specializing in marketing from North Karelia University of Applied Sciences. Her studies of communications (media) in North Karelia University of Applied Sciences are almost completed.
